Air Traffic Control Testimonials
“AudioSoft Limited recording systems supplied and installed 11 (eleven) digital recorder/reproducer systems at civil and military sites and those systems are fully performing to a satisfactory standard. A total of 1120 recording channels are currently used to monitor capture and replay voice, data, and synchronous radar information over TWR, APP and ACC networks. The systems were purchased to replace analogue equipment and allow data replay while also recording. This is of value should an ongoing incident require instant clarification. Synchronized radar is also of value in incident reconstruction - when needed in either training or accident modes. AudioSoft is satisfactory supporting the purchased systems both directly via modem and through their local agent company, EBCO Systems. Recently, AudioSoft was awarded a new contract with CISCEA to supply additional 10 (ten) digital recorder/reproducer systems, evidencing the operational, technique and logistic acceptance of the systems purchased before in the Brazilian ATC environment.”

“BelgoControl would like to confirm that our experience of AudioSoft's digital recorder and playback system has been very positive. So far, AudioPC has been installed successfully across five sites within our airspace and has performed without fault and to the set of standards required.
Furthermore, AudioSoft have a flexible approach and their assistance in installation, training, configuration, and support has also been of a very high standard. The system at CANAC was able to be set up in such a way as to ensure uninterrupted operation during a move of hardware to a new building nearby.
In terms of operations, central recording administration, and remote monitoring of the system (across the country) is carried out from our CANAC site at Brussels International Airport, with networked units in Antwerp, Charleroi, Liège, and Ostend. There are a total of 692 channels carrying and capturing voice and data information traffic. AudioSoft support can connect directly to this network of recorders from England for further fine tuning when required.
We also value the ability to be able to easily upgrade and expand the PC based system in future, and are looking to extend the range of functions further in keeping with the whole CANAC upgrade project.”

“There have been no significant technical problems. For the incident investigators it was a big leap forward thanks to the easy access to all recordings. Before we used to distinguish between instant and deferred replay, now all recordings are immediately available.
One of the most striking benefits is that we got rid of the cumbersome and time-consuming tape handling. Both the technicians who had to replace tapes every day as well as for the operators who needed to mount the tape of a certain recording. Can you imagine what happened when for an investigation, recordings of different tapes were required?
AudioSoft should always figure on every list of potential ATC suppliers.”

“The transmission quality was good, with perfect clarity and the CAA were impressed with the recording results. I doubt if we would have obtained the same level of clarity with our old system, as it was often very difficult to hear what different people were saying. The CAA took one hard copy, duplicated our DAT tape onto standard cassette and the original was taken away in case anyone wanted confirmation.”

“Very good recording quality, this is one of the main reasons for changing to a digital solution. Good coordination and cooperation with the AudioSoft Project Manager, the course that took place at the airport covered all of our needs regarding operating and maintenance of the VRS. We had an excellent teacher.”

“During operational use of Voice Recording Systems AudioSoft we did not have any problems regarding it. System has user-friendly interface and is very easy to work. Also, utilization of VRS is so intuitive.
After six months of usage VRS in operative work we found it as very secure and reliable system. Quality of records and recorded material is very good. That was particularly shown during Search and Rescue action that was taken in Mostar, while we were searching for Macedonian delegacys aircraft, and material which was recorded on DVD media was very useful for investigation of accident. We are very satisfactory regarding this system.
We are looking forward to our future co-operation.”

“I was aware of your equipment and had the opportunity to examine it working live at Bristol International Airport and to speak to the engineers responsible for its day to day operation. They were very keen to demonstrate the systems capabilities and I was confident of its reliability.
As a medium sized but very busy airport, it is vital that the day to day operating of a voice recording system is easy to understand and secure. As an Air Traffic Engineer working alone, I need the support of Air Traffic Assistants for daily checks and DVD changes. Your company has developed an access system for Gloucestershire Airports Assistants which is straightforward and reliable to operate whiles still ensuring protected access to engineering levels.”
Keith Davies

“CCA of Macedonia, Skopje is satisfied that the AudioPC-2070 recorder has been working in a reliable fashion since summer of 2002.
It is a dual redundant system, each unit has 70 channel system with 2 replay channels, 1 DVD, a replay station, and synchronizing clocks. Word transcription and monitor software are used for analysis and simulation use.
In summary, we find the equipment easy and reliable to use for the purposes connected with voice communication recording.”

“It was a very closely fought competition. Although the start up purchase costs of AudioSoft's system were not the cheapest, their use of COTS solutions gives us long term cost benefits in terms of ongoing maintenance and support after 4 to 5 years. This made them the most cost effective over the product's lifetime
AudioSoft's use of the industry standard Microsoft Windows 95 and NT operating systems was a comfort factor and the final bonus was that, as a British company, it could offer a UK based full support facility.
Those sites with the modem facility already in place are very pleased as it saves them a lot of grief, as minor problems can be sorted virtually instantly via the remote diagnostics program.
The remote diagnostics facility is very very helpful and offers a good service. We can ring at any time and they will take us through any problems. They have been brilliant.
Everyone without fail has commented on the clarity and better quality of recording, offered by the AudioPC 2000.”

“The Air Traffic Engineering and Traffic Control personnel have been greatly impressed by the performance and reliability of the forty channel AudioPC2000 system.
What has been important to me as Manager Air Traffic Engineering is the support and assistance given by AudioSoft to enable system approval by UK Civil Aviation Authority Safety Regulation Group.
I would have no hesitation in recommending both AudioSoft, the company and AudioPC 2000 the product to any potential customer that AudioSoft refers to me.
So impressed are we with this product that we are looking forward to AudioSoft providing further products to Newcastle Airport to enable other recording/training requirements.”

“I would like to thank you for your kind assistance analysing essential audio media relating to the accident of one of our our Puma helicopters in Iraq recently. The data, which you formatted for us, now forms an extremely important strand of investigation, hopefully leading to safer operations for the Puma fleet. As you may be aware, aircraft accident investigation relies heavily on the swift gathering and thorough analysis of a variety of evidence. Not all of it appears relevant during the immediate aftermath of an accident, but this was one area that we suspected would give us important clues about the cause of the accident. That has proven to be the case.
I hope that we can rely upon your support again in the future, should it be necessary. As an accident investigator, it is always good to know exactly where swift and professional support services are located to help take the investigation forward. Thank you again.”
