AudioSoft Provides a Quantum Leap in Recording for London Manston

AudioSoft has been selected to supply London Manston Airport with a new state of the art ATC digital recording solution. The airport, which is located in the South East of England near Ramsgate, is within 65 miles of London. Due to its excellent motorway and rail links and its proximity to Dover and the Channel Tunnel, it has the potential to become a major regional airport within the South East.

AudioSoft replaced an obsolete analog tape recorder with an up to date dual redundant 40–channel recorder with two replay channels. Jim Leonard, the Engineering Manager at the Airport said he was “really impressed with the system” and described the new system as a “quantum leap forward”.

The solution supplied enables the airport to record ground to ground and ground to air communications. This gives this 300,000 passenger capacity terminal the benefit of a centralized recording solution. The ability to access both types of recording from the same station gives more immediate control to the users.
