Brazilian Airforce communication recording network contact secured by AudioSoft
AudioSoft has been awarded a major communications recording network contract by CISCEA – the Comissão de Implantação do Sistema de Controle do Espaço Aéreo of Brazil to supply its network enabled AudioPC–2000 system as part of a major investment in the upgrading of civil and military ATC communications infrastructure within Brazil. Eleven of the largest Brazilian military airports will replace analog recording equipment with AudioSoft’s latest digital recorder; AudioPC–2000. Capturing all APP and ACC channels within range, this new digital technology offers simultaneous recording and playback of both voice and radar data and offers the benefits of superior recording, search, retrieval and replay.
AudioSoft beat off stiff competition from four other international companies to win the contract. The equipment to be supplied is a fully redundant digital recorder/playback system incorporating RAID hard disk archival storage which will store all information for a period of 31 days in compliance with recording requirements. AudioSoft’s AudioPC recording systems utilize Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) PCs and are capable of recording both voice and radar data with simultaneous replay for air incident investigations. Operability of the systems will be enhanced by the inclusion of SmartAdditions software which allows transcription and a range of other functions to be utilized for improved operational efficiency and mission-specific requirements.
The new equipment will be delivered in a planned roll out throughout Brazil. Chris Brill, AudioSoft Managing Director said: ‘We are pleased to have been selected by CISCEA after a full technical and financial evaluation against our competitors to provide the AudioPC–2000 to the Brazilian Air Force. This order follows previous successful civil and military Air Traffic Control recording contracts in the UK and overseas, firmly establishing both AudioPC–2000 as a leading edge product, and AudioSoft as a preferred supplier and developer of recording systems in the ATC market worldwide.”
