Brazilian Navy float new AudioSoft voice and radar recording system
When the Brazilian Naval Commission (Marinha Do Brasil - http://www.mar.mil.br/ ) were in need of reliable recording for their variety of audio inputs plus primary and secondary radar communications plus playback over PC’s, they consulted existing AudioSoft clients, the Brazilian Air Force.
In co-operation with our partners in-country, EBCO Systems of São Paulo, AudioSoft are again able to extend our supply lines across the Atlantic Ocean with no loss to our high quality of service. Unmanned surveillance operation, plus remote maintenance and configuration of the system from our base in England means that we score highly when it comes to customer service at large distances.
The system comprises 64 channels of dual redundant RAID hard disks. It is expandable beyond the minimum of 128 channels, and includes 2 channels each of primary and secondary radar recording, expandable to at least 8 channels. Voice activation is also included, as is an internal clock for the time-stamping of recordings. Archiving to DVD takes place on separate replay machines - all of the commercial / off the shelf variety.
Peter Appleton, AudioSoft Business Development Manager adds ‘the global requirement for integrated voice and radar recording is growing and we are very pleased to have been awarded this Brazilian Navy contract which has followed on from the Brazilian Aeronautical Commission contract for similar recording systems at 11 airports’.
